R&D Engineer

As an R&D Engineer, you will work on internal technology development projects within our international organization. Your focus will be on the development, testing, validation, and implementation of new materials, components, and production processes for connector solutions.

You will work closely with colleagues from R&D, production, sales, and engineering, both in the Netherlands and at our locations in Germany and Romania. In addition, you will collaborate with suppliers and external partners involved in testing, treatments, and production processes.

The projects you work on have a strong technical and process-oriented nature. Examples include developing new materials in response to changing regulations, setting up validation and testing programs, or industrializing components that are currently produced externally. In doing so, you maintain oversight of the entire process, from material selection and pilot production runs to validation, manufacturing, and final application at the customer.

In addition to being technically involved, you will also take on a coordinating role within projects. You will align with various international teams, monitor the progress of testing programs, and ensure that the right steps are executed at the right time. You know how to involve others in projects in a constructive and professional manner, even when interests or priorities differ.

An important part of the role is the collaboration with our production site in Southern Germany. Therefore, you are willing to travel to Germany on a regular basis.

This position combines engineering, process development, validation, and international collaboration in an environment where you will be given a high level of freedom and responsibility.

You are technically strong, work in a structured manner, and maintain oversight within complex projects. You enjoy analyzing technical challenges and are energized by improving processes and products. In addition, you have strong communication skills and know how to bring others along in your approach.

You can easily switch between different projects, work independently, and feel comfortable in an international environment where collaboration is key.

To be successful in this role, it is desirable that you also have:

• A Bachelor's degree (HBO level) in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a comparable field.
• Knowledge of production processes within metalworking, plastics, or industrial manufacturing environments.
• Experience with project-based work and technical coordination.
• Experience with CAD systems such as SolidWorks or similar.
• An interest in material behavior, validation, and process development.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to independently conduct technical discussions.
• Language skills: English is required. German and Dutch are considered a strong advantage.
• Willingness to travel regularly to our location in Germany.
• Practical experience within a production environment is considered beneficial in this role.
