Strategic Finance Manager (32 – 40 hours)

Bedrijfsomschrijving
Bolsius is a family-owned company and one of the world's leading candle manufacturers. This makes us a major player in the Home Ambiance category in over 50 countries. Headquartered in Schijndel, here the strategy is determined, innovations developed and tested before entering the international playing field. Bolsius has its own production sites in Poland and the Netherlands (Roermond). In addition, there are a number of local sales organizations. In recent years, Bolsius' proposition has successfully expanded from 'candle maker' to a full-fledged Home Ambiance brand with an emphasis on design, performance and sustainability. The strategy for the coming years is to further grow the Bolsius brand, within existing channels and customers, and beyond. As an employer, Bolsius combines the best of both worlds: an enterprising family business and a professional and internationally oriented culture. The organization increasingly works in cross-functional teams.

Bolsius believes it is important to pay attention to diversity, inclusion and equality. Every person is unique. We want everyone to feel welcome, safe and accepted, especially as an employee. We are convinced that attention for these topics leads to better performance, different perspectives and creativity. We strive for a working environment and culture in which all employees feel comfortable and can develop themselves fully.

Functieomschrijving
As the Strategic Finance Manager, situated within the Finance department in Schijndel (The Netherlands), you direct the product categories in the Bolsius Group from a financial perspective. You report directly to the CFO (you will also oversee her responsibilities during her absence), manage the Operations Controller, and collaborate closely with the Product Managers and the Innovation Manager.

Your primary responsibility is to provide expert advice, solicited or otherwise, on revitalizing the company’s business model, focusing on identifying market opportunities and cost-saving measures. You play a pivotal role in advising the board on potential enhancements to both branded and non-branded product categories, aiming for long-term improvements.
Aligned with this responsibility, you will play a key role in developing strategies to boost the financial performance of various product categories. This involves providing critical business insights to the company, particularly to the Product Managers, to support improved decision-making and financial health in future projects. You will identify, analyze, and report on the monthly P&L results across the entire group chain, including purchasing, production, logistics, and sales. Also, you provide business case analyses, assessing input from business units, and ensuring the monitoring of profitability in new projects.

Additionally, managing strategic projects at the category group level forms a significant part of your role. In collaboration with the team in Poland and the Senior Business Analyst, you guide strategic, tactical, and budgetary planning processes for business operations. You are also instrumental in conducting financial evaluations for projects, such as investments and the reallocation of assets, at SSC and Moerdijk, ensuring the optimal allocation of Bolsius resources.

Other duties involve working with the Operations Controller in Poland to drive production-related cost improvement initiatives. Depending on various cost developments, you will frequently manage the ICP/costing scenario process, coordinating with the procurement, supply and operations teams.
As a senior member of the finance team, your active involvement will be essential in advancing the financial and control expertise within Bolsius Group. Furthermore, you will drive the sustainability (impact) strategy in finance and play a vital role in maintaining and promoting the Bolsius culture and values program.
